Aurélie Nemours (1910-2005) was a prominent French abstract artist known for her minimalist geometric paintings. Born in Paris, Nemours initially pursued a career in music before fully dedicating herself to visual arts in the 1950s.

Influenced by the Constructivist and Concrete art movements, Nemours employed simple geometric shapes, such as squares, rectangles, and lines, in her compositions. She explored the interplay of colors, forms, and spatial relationships to create a sense of harmonious balance and rhythm.

Nemours was deeply interested in the concept of repetition and variation, often repeating motifs and patterns throughout her works. She believed that abstract art could convey a sense of spiritual and emotional experience through the arrangement of forms while engaging the viewer in a contemplative dialogue.

Throughout her career, Nemours received numerous accolades and recognition for her contributions to the art world. Her works have been exhibited in major galleries and museums internationally, making her one of the significant figures in 20th-century abstract art.

Aurélie Nemours' dedication to exploring the essence of visual elements and her commitment to the principles of abstraction have left a lasting impact on the art world. Her precise and balanced compositions continue to inspire and captivate audiences, solidifying her legacy as a pioneering artist.
